The new Rene Furterer Karite hair care line was launched this evening at the Artisanal Cheese Center in New York City, and I felt surprisingly “home”. Now back from my study abroad experience in Florence, Italy, I was desperately missing those luxurious tastes of Europe.
The Rene Furterer “Passport to Luxury” event was an educational experience teaching those of us lucky enough in attendance how to pair the finest cheeses and champagnes from France. It reminded me of the amazing class I had taken in Florence, "Pairing Food and Wines of Italy." It was thrilling to know I was about to learn about the specialty foods from a different region, from two experts.
Cathleen Burke Visscher, the lead champagne expert, offered sparkling wine tips, while Max McCalman, Artisanal Cheese Center Maitre Fromager, led us through the cheese wheel. The duo not only aligned cheese and champagne, but connected their fine products with the new Rene Furterer Karite hair care line, featuring intensely nourishing formulas in their shampoo, masque and oil.
The aroma of orange and vanilla swirled around room as each attendee checked out the new Karite Intense Nourishing formulas. According to the Rene Furterer team, the Intense Nourishing Shampoo not only nourishes but restructures extremely dry and damaged scalp and hair, reviving the hair leaving it soft and manageable. The pre-shampoo Intense Nourishing Oil is designed to enhance silkiness and softness in your hair by restoring nutrition. Lastly, the Intense Nourishing Mask goes in-depth to restructure and repair dry hair creating a healthier and softer look. According to the press materials presented at the table, this Intense Nourishing team of products is designed to leave your hair feeling better than ever. I poured some onto my hand to check out the scent and lather. If it does all that is claimed, then this new line will be a hit. (Available this fall at fine salons, prices ranging from $20-24). I can’t wait to get home to try the products.
But before I can do that, I had to get back to my cheese and champagne!
As we ventured from soft to hard cheese and from gold to pink champagne, we felt like we were on a vineyard in France. Gazing at the three products serving as a centerpiece, it was easy to envision a beret on every head in the room. Matching the luxurious products with the luxurious tastes made it a night to remember. Every guest in the room was gifted with knowledge, products and giggles after four flutes of the bubbly.
