Is Florence Fashionable?

The most fashionable person I know was spotted in Florence, Italy just a couple of hours ago… the one and only CLINTON KELLY from “What Not To Wear”.  You could only imagine my surprise when I saw my old friend who I had just interned with this past summer, sitting in Palazzo Pitti.

As I approached a group from my Art History class waiting in the piazza, I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Clinton was just sitting on the ground, like any other tourist, with what I know now (after being introduced by Clinton) his husband.  The entire class was nervously excited and giggling about the picture they just took with one of their favorite celebs.  As I walked up to the class, my barely English speaking teacher said, “Yes that’s he!”  I shouted “I know him!  I worked with him this summer!”  Immediately I headed toward Clinton.

He looked ravishing sitting in the sun in his designer sunglasses covering his blue eyes.  “I know you really don’t want to deal with this right now…” (He looks up slowly) “But I worked with you this summer!”  He gets up in excitement saying “Oh my goodness Margot, what a small world”.  We chatted briefly about his stay in Venice and his one day trip to Florence that I just happened to catch him on.  What Not To Wear is on hiatus and he told me that he was starting a new show “The Chew” coming out this September.  A must watch for me of course.  As I said my farewells to Clinton and his husband I couldn’t help but notice the star’s “what TO wear” style.

With his stripped purple and white button-up (most likely Etro, his favorite brand) and his gray blazer with small, matching purple pinstripes, he couldn’t have looked more like the Clinton Kelly I knew this summer.  As I walked away with the biggest smile, I couldn’t help but wonder if that was one of the shirts I had ironed for him a few months earlier…
