Test Tube= Overlash!

I’m talking about mascara!  As I emptied my overstuffed make-up bag onto my white counter tops I realized… I am a mascara junkie!  Trying new mascaras is a hobby of mine and it is no doubt a fun hobby.  I decided to take my hobby to the next level by comparing two of my newly purchased mascaras.  The “test day” would consist of DIORSHOW EXTASE on the right eye and TARINA TARANTINO on the left eye.  Seeing how each lasted throughout the day would help decipher which mascara is best for the different mascara-lovers out there.  So here is what I found.

DIORSHOW EXTASE is mascara you WANT people to see you are wearing.  It pumps up your lashes making them look thicker, longer, darker and more VA-VA-VOOM.  TARINA TARANTINO mascara is the “every day” look.  It gives the look like you just woke up with your lashes looking fresh.  With this mascara some might think you aren’t even wearing mascara at all but it gives a finished, clean look.
Each mascara is perfect for an occasion: DIORSHOW EXTASE- a night out on the town and TARINA TARANTINO- a day out shopping.

My personal choice:
One of my favorite sayings is, “it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed” and I feel the same way about mascara.  I would rather be “overlashed” with my pumped up DIORSHOW EXTASE at all times than be “underlashed” with TARINA TARANTINO.

Kick Some Booties!

I was a pretty lucky girl today.  An interview at 4 Times Square, the Conde Nast building, was a dream come true.  The fashion swirling around the building was more than I could handle.  Not just inside the building but walking around the area gave me true fashion inspiration.

Booties are making it big this season.  Everywhere I turned I saw one bootie after the other.  Most of the women were wearing wedged ankle boots but each had an extremely different look.  From jeans to tights to skirts you couldn’t go wrong with a cute bootlet.

I quickly realized I NEEDED a pair.  Not only would I be a “shoe-in” (or better yet "boot-in") fashionista but it would be perfect for Florence.  The cobblestone streets in Florence would chew up my stilettos faster than I could buy a new pair at the Zara down the street.  So the resolution would be a wedge bootie!  I’m looking for the perfect bootlet that could go from day to night.  Close toed would be ideal for the colder months since I already own some fabulous spring wedges.  Here are some suggestions:

ALDO
Luzier $120
Sandidge $120
Rubin $160

STEVE MADDEN
Annie $169.95
Monsterr $169.96

So if I want to fit in and make a statement in the building that houses Vogue I am on the prowl for the perfect bootie.
