It is a couple days shy of one month until I will be running around the streets of Florence, Italy. To say the least I am freaking out. Not many take the time to blog about the jitters before their study abroad adventures. As I sit here snowed in I can't help but think about all the things that I desperately need to prepare. My mind races with thoughts of: how to pack 4 months into 2 bags, or the many things I need to purchase or what cities I should travel to... it feels like a sickness. A good sickness. I am beyond excited to travel the world learning about the places I visit and myself included.
There is much to do before I depart. Most importantly: settling an internship for the summer. Last summer I had a dream internship at the TLC show "What Not to Wear" and I hope to have an equally fabulous internship the summer I return. Interviewing, shopping, packing and researching will be my main priorities before I head to Italy.
My spring semester plans are not only to explore the wonders Italy has to offer but to discover the land and culture all around me. I hope to (and will!) travel to Morocco, Croatia, Barcelona, Switzerland, Germany, Prague and more! My thoughts are that if I can travel to every place I dream of traveling to, this is the time to do it. I am a young, energetic student with no problem roughing it in a cozy hostel and running around the cities all day and night.
As I constantly search ryanair.com and sites with travel packages I will make sure to get the most out of my experience abroad. I will blog my way through each city, camel ride and skydiving experience I have.
Now I need to go learn some Italian.
Ciao!
